• To ensure sound credit decisions are made for on boarding acceptable credit quality customers whilst maintaining turnaround time standards set for the department.
• Approve credit applications in accordance with credit authority given and ensuring any exceptions are escalated to the relevant authority.
• Ensure credit applications are processed within the set turnaround time.
• Ensure quality of credit applications approved is as per the Bank’s risk appetite and in compliance with the Bank’s credit policy as well as local regulatory requirements.
• Work together with the site verification team to ensure efficient turnaround time.
• Conduct periodic joint visits with the site verification team to obtain field experience and provide feedback to them on things to look out for and areas for improvement.
• Assist in the identification of fraud trends and modus operandi during the evaluation of credit applications and to share this information with the rest of the department.
• Assist the Senior Credit Evaluation Manager in the preparation of capacity plans.
