Role Overview

The Senior Buyer will oversee and manage day-to-day purchasing operations to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and components that support production and customer delivery schedules. This role requires a hands‑on individual with strong experience in purchasing operations within a semiconductor or EMS / contract manufacturing environment, capable of driving efficiency, accuracy, and supplier performance while ensuring material readiness for high‑mix, low‑volume production.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily purchasing activities including issuing purchase orders, monitoring order confirmations, and following up with suppliers to ensure on‑time material delivery.
• Coordinate closely with planning, warehouse, and production teams to ensure materials availability aligns with manufacturing schedules and customer demands.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, and responsiveness, and work with them to resolve issues such as delays, shortages, or non‑conformances.
• Execute purchase requisitions in compliance with company policies, approved supplier lists, and pricing agreements.
• Review and validate purchase order details including part numbers, pricing, quantities, and lead times to ensure data accuracy and compliance with ERP systems.
• Maintain up-to-date records of open orders, supplier communications, and delivery schedules to provide visibility to internal stakeholders.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for bulk purchasing, consolidation, or alternate sourcing in collaboration with the procurement team.
• Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies, goods receipt issues, and other transactional challenges to ensure smooth operations between purchasing and finance.
• Participate in internal meetings to communicate material status, supply risks, and recovery plans for delayed deliveries.
• Provide guidance and support to junior buyers or new team members to ensure consistency and adherence to operational procedures.
