A cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions efficiently, accurately, and with a friendly attitude. They process payments, issue receipts, and assist customers with inquiries while maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. Cashiers are often the final point of contact for customers, so providing excellent service and leaving a positive impression is key.
Key Responsibilities :
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases.
- Accurately handle cash, credit card, e-wallet, and other payment methods.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or change as needed.
- Maintain a tidy and organized cashier counter.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve basic complaints or direct them to the supervisor.
- Follow company policies on cash handling and security.
- Assist with packing items or coordinating takeaway orders (if in F&B / retail).
- Balance cash register at the start and end of shifts.
