Curriculum Oversight
- Curriculum Oversight : Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of a robust and inclusive curriculum that aligns with national standards (e.g. National Pre‑School Curriculum) and any specific school philosophy (e.g. Montessori, Reggio Emilia, etc.).
- Instructional Excellence : Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to teachers to ensure effective instructional strategies and a high‑quality learning environment.
- Student Progress : Monitor and analyse student achievement data to guide instructional decisions and ensure holistic development (academic, social, emotional, and physical).
School Operations & Administration
Daily Management : Oversee all day‑to‑day operations, ensuring a safe, healthy, and conducive environment that complies with all local regulations and audit standards.Financial Management : Manage, monitor, and control the school’s budget, including fee collection, procurement, and making recommendations for resource allocation and cost‑saving measures.Compliance : Ensure the preschool adheres to all relevant government regulations for Early Childhood Care and Education in Malaysia.Staff Management & Development
Hiring & Onboarding : Actively participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection process for teachers and support staff.Performance Management : Conduct regular staff evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and organise training sessions to address skill gaps and promote continuous professional growth.Team Culture : Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative work culture among all staff members.Community & Stakeholder Relations
Parent Engagement : Maintain open, effective, and transparent communication with parents, addressing concerns promptly and fostering a strong school‑family partnership.Marketing & Enrollment : Collaborate on local marketing efforts, conduct school tours, and drive enrollment to ensure sustainable school growth.Community Building : Organise school events, parent‑teacher meetings, and workshops to encourage parent involvement and build community ties.Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field or a related field is often required or preferred.Experience : Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience in an early years setting, with at least 1‑3 years in a leadership or administrative role (e.g. Principal, Vice‑Principal, Head of Department).Language : Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential.
