Overview
Lead Engineer, Electrical, Instrument & Control (EIC), WTE Project Development at Malakoff Corporation Berhad. Location : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Posting status : 2 days ago; role open for applications.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand all EIC-related clauses in the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract. Monitor the EPCC contractor’s adherence to these terms and conditions and manage any change orders or claims related to the EIC scope.
- Review and endorse all EIC engineering deliverables submitted by the EPC contractor, including drawings (single-line diagrams, P&IDs, etc.), specifications, calculations, and technical reports to ensure compliance with the Employer’s requirements, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and relevant codes.
- Ensure that the EPCC contractor’s design aligns with the project’s design basis and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with other discipline leads (mechanical, civil, etc.) to manage interfaces and ensure EIC systems integrate with the rest of the plant.
- Oversee on-site EIC construction activities, including cable routing and termination, equipment installation, grounding systems, and control room setup.
- Monitor the EPCC contractor’s procurement process for all EIC equipment and materials. Witness and endorse FATs for critical EIC equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear, control panels, DCS / PLC systems) to verify functionality and compliance before shipment.
- Track the project’s EIC schedule, identify potential delays, and work with the PMC to implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
- Coordinate and participate in the development and review of pre-commissioning, commissioning procedures and commissioning schedule, including IF commissioning with TNB. Witness and approve critical tests to ensure all EIC systems are functioning correctly.
- Review EPCC Contractor’s progress reports. Provide regular, detailed reports to the Project Director / Employer on the status of the EIC works, including progress, budget, quality, and any critical issues.
- Maintain effective communication channels with all parties, including the Employer’s management, the PMC team, the Owner’s Engineer, and the EPCC contractor, to ensure alignment on project goals and efficient problem-solving.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical / electronic / instrumentation engineering from an accredited university.Minimum 8 years of working experience, including :At least 6 years in power / utilities / waste management (or similar industry) and2 years in a management / leading role, preferably in engineering, technical support, project or construction management.Strong technical expertise and knowledge in power plant and waste management, particularly in electrical, instrumentation and control systems.Good knowledge of power and waste management-related laws, policies, codes and standards.Job Benefits
