Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate with SSC KL Finance teams (AP, GAMA, AR, TR, T&E, Compliance and Procurement) and execute month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts in compliance with month-end close checklist.
- Perform analytical review of profit and loss accounts and balance sheet; be accountable for the financial accuracy of the affiliate’s financials. Responsible for all Internal Controls of Financial Reporting (ICFR) documentation and internal controls matters; act as owner for the ICFR tools – INVOLVE and BWISE.
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliation; follow up on open items and rectify anomalies. Submit other reporting packages accurately and within specified timelines (e.g., Sustainability, Insurance reporting). Responsible for IFRS 16 Leasing matters (e.g., SimSol / Planon). Review and approve all manual journal entries posted by the SSC KL team. Responsible for all management accounting aspects (e.g., period cost allocation, COPA allocation, SSC allocation).
- Accounts Receivables / Accounts Payables : review and approve manual billings, review debtors ageing and determine follow-up actions; ensure all sales-related activities are reported timely and accurately. Review and approve AP activities (e.g., vendor invoices, payments).
- Treasury : manage cash flow – forecast current and future cash flow requirements and arrange fund transfers if required. Manage treasury matters (e.g., FX deals, credit facilities, payment requests, banking matters).
- Master Data : manage master data – Chart of Accounts, Cost Center, Profit Center, WBS, vendor & customer master data, UCI, etc. Other activities include preparation of statutory tax calculations and reconciliation, tax reporting and liaising with Tax Consultant; preparation of audit-related schedules and documentation, including liaising with the Auditor; participate in compliance audits and respond to audit queries; identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in operations; act as main contact for SSC KL Finance teams for issue resolution and for FM in the affiliates for all financial matters, requests and advisory.
Qualifications
A degree in Finance / Accounting / Commerce or equivalent. ACCA, CPA Australia or other accounting professional qualifications are an added advantage.Minimum 5 years of related experience and minimum 3 years in an accounting role / audit. Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, audit, and taxation.Proficiency in relevant accounting software (preferably SAP) and MS Office. Meticulous, independent, proactive, and able to execute tasks within tight deadlines.Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and manage relationships with diverse populations (customers, colleagues, senior leaders). Proficiency in influencing skills. Comfortable working in a dynamic, changing environment and capable of operating across diverse cultural and business environments. Willingness to travel for business when required.Proficient in English and Japanese; additional languages are an added advantage.About Roche
