The Country Chief Accountant role ensures the day-to-day accounts and accounting processes are managed to a high standard. This involves working closely with the RSS APAC Ops teams to ensure accuracy of data and smooth operations.
Responsibilities :
- Contributes to the safeguarding of company assets through the maintenance of appropriate controls while supporting the Finance Manager and leading the determination of appropriate accounting treatment for various programs and / or global projects.
- Coordinates with SSC KL Finance teams and performs month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts in compliance with the month-end close checklist.
- Performs analytical review of profit and loss accounts and balance sheet, accountable for the financial accuracy of the affiliate’s Financials.
- Responsible for all Internal Controls of Financial Reporting (ICFR) documentation and internal controls matters, acting as the owner for the ICFR tools – INVOLVE and BWISE.
- Reviews monthly balance sheet reconciliation, follows up on open items, and rectifies any anomalies encountered.
- Submits other reporting packages accurately and within specified timelines, such as Sustainability and Insurance reporting.
- Responsible for IFRS 16 Leasing related matters, reviews, and provides approval for all manual journal entries for posting by the SSC KL team.
- Responsible for all management accounting aspects, such as Period cost allocation, COPA allocation, SSC allocation, etc.
Accounts Receivables / Accounts Payables :
Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Receivables, reviewing and approving manual billings, reviewing debtors' ageing, and determining follow-up actions.Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payables, reviewing and providing approval of AP-related activities, such as vendor invoices and payments.Treasury :
Cash flow management - forecasts current and future cash flow requirements and arranges for necessary fund transfers (if required).Responsible for all treasury matters, such as FX deals, credit facilities, payment requests, and banking matters.Manages master data, including Chart of Accounts, Cost Center, Profit Center, WBS, vendor & customer master data, UCI, etc.Prepares statutory taxes calculations and reconciliation, including tax reporting and liaising with the Tax Consultant.Prepares audit-related schedules and documentation, including liaising with the Auditor.Participates in any compliance audits and responds to audit queries.Identifies, recommends, and implements solutions in consultation with management for continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of operation.Serves as the main contact person for SSC KL Finance teams for issue resolution for all financial matters.Serves as the main contact person for the Finance Manager in the affiliates for all financial matters, requests, and advisory.Requirements :
A degree or equivalent experience in Finance / Accounting / Commerce. ACCA, CPA, or other accounting professional qualifications will be an added advantage.Minimum 8 years of working experience in a related field and minimum 5 years in an accountant role / audit experience.Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial reporting, audit, and taxation. Proficiency in relevant accounting software, preferably SAP, and MS office tools.Meticulous, independent, proactive, and ability to perform tasks within tight due dates.Strong communication and influencing skills, expressing ideas and expectations in a clear and concise manner.Proven track record of effective relationship and stakeholder management with diverse populations (customers, colleagues, and senior leaders).Comfortable working in a dynamic, changing, and growing environment.Able to operate effectively across diverse cultural and business environments.Able to commit to business travel when required.Proficiency in English and proficiency in Thai language is required.Good communication skills are essential, as the role involves supporting counterparts in the respective countries.Candidate with Thai CPD - Continue Professional Development (Accounting) active license will be an added advantage.About Us :
