Job Purpose and Impact

To fast-track a junior trading / merchandising talent who is commercially inclined for our Cargill Food & Bio trading business. The role will be mentorship focused on building relevant skills, knowledge and cultural awareness to be successful in the role.

Key Accountabilities

• Developing short-term and long-term trading strategies, as well as identifying potential opportunities in both derivatives, cash paper and physical markets.
• Negotiate for buy and sell physical cargo during arbitrage opening / closing by adopting a holistic view of factors driving the spot and forward market and prices.
• Support building of physical liquidity and market share in assigned markets via business development efforts and participation in trade flows within measured risk vs reward assessment.
• Develop market knowledge through constant dialogue and close communication with industry players, and customers at multiple levels so as to enhance the overall customer experience.
• Collaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, customer managers and credit manager to ensure efficient execution and resolve routine problems.
• Enter most routine data and run specialty reports from our contract management databases and systems.
• Research and analyze on market trends.
• Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
