Senior Manager, Compliance Advisory & Regulatory Liaison
To assist Head of Department (HOD) in providing effective leading supports on policy governance activities related to regulatory compliance matters which include provision of advisory to business units and support functions, compliance risk assessment on projects, business initiatives, programs and procedures / process improvements as well as key contact point for exchange of communication with regulators and relevant external parties.
The incumbent is required to support compliance roles and activities involving MBSB Group and MBSB Bank in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies within the Group Compliance Division.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance advisory to business units and support functions
- To take the lead role in providing effective advisory on regulatory and compliance matters to all business units and support functions.
Subject matter expert in PDP / banking secrecy related requirements
To take the lead role in providing advisory on PDP / banking secrecy related requirements.To take the lead role in managing the development, implementation, and periodic review of relevant Group Compliance policies and procedures e.g. Management of Customer Information & Permitted Disclosures (MCIPD) Policy and MCIPD Procedures.To take the lead role in reviewing any potential customer information breach incidents (end-to-end process until reporting to BNM / PDP Commissioner).To take the lead role in performing gap analysis on applicable BNM policy documents and other regulations related to the above.To take the lead role in monitoring progress of compliance gap closure on the applicable BNM policy documents and other regulations.To take the lead role in managing the monthly exception reports to detect unusual frequent viewing of customer information by authorized staff in core banking system i.e. MICOB system.Compliance assessment
To take the lead role in reviewing any new / revised products (proposal papers, fees and charges, submission to BNM) to ensure compliance to BNM and other applicable regulations.To take the lead role in performing compliance assessment on the bank’s projects, business initiatives, programs, etc. according to the requirements as stated in BNM and other applicable regulations.To take the lead role in reviewing product related collaterals (e.g. marketing materials, advertisements, terms and conditions, etc) as well as regulatory submission requirements (e.g. submission via BNM’s Regulatory Approval system) in relation to MBSB Group and MBSB Bank to be in line with BNM and other applicable regulations.Review of policies and procedures / processes for adoption by MBSB Group and MBSB Bank
To take the lead role in reviewing policies and procedures / processes during development / revision to ensure regulatory requirements are complied with, and any compliance gaps are closed accordingly.To take the lead role in providing effective advisory role on regulatory expectations to stakeholders.To take the lead role in acting as the liaison person / coordinating any ad-hoc requests by BNM and other regulators (e.g. AIBIM / LHDN / PIDM / FIMM, etc).To take the lead role in liaising with regulators in managing stakeholders’ enquiries or concerns on regulatory matters concerning MBSB Group and MBSB bank’s operations and processes.To take the lead role in acting as the liaison person for external auditors / consultants on engagement, audit, assurance reviews, statutory reporting.Participation in key projects and bank’s strategic initiatives as advisor on regulatory mattersTo take the lead role in providing effective advisory role on compliance related matters for projects and strategic initiatives undertaken by MBSB Group and MBSB Bank.To take the lead role in ensuring all regulatory requirements are adequately addressed for any projects and strategic initiatives undertaken by MBSB Group and MBSB Bank.Ad-hoc assignment and initiatives
To undertake assignments and initiatives within the Group and its entities as delegated by Group Chief Compliance Officer / HOD from time to time, in alignment with the Group’s priorities and objectives.Threshold Qualifications
Recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Accounting, Finance, Law or any other related discipline.
Years & Nature of Experience
Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in Compliance, Internal Audit and / or Risk Management functions within financial services industry.
