Head of Import Department (HOD – Import)

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Import Department. The Head of Import will be responsible for managing the entire import operations of the company, ensuring compliance with all regulations, optimizing processes, and driving efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent knowledge of international trade practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Import Department.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage all import activities including shipment scheduling, customs clearance, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and company policies.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve any issues or delays promptly.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize costs, improve efficiency, and enhance service quality.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments (Sales, Finance, Operations) to support smooth supply chain operations.
• Provide leadership, training, and guidance to the import team to achieve departmental KPIs.
• Prepare and present management reports on import performance, costs, and risks.
