We are the Leading Swim School group in both Singapore & Malaysia with more than 20 Indoor Heated Swimming Pools. Established in 2007, the company has about 6,000 active students now and targets 25,000 active students by 2028. We are seeking a highly skilled & motivated individual to assume the role of Group Finance Controller (based in Puchong, Malaysia, with regional travel as needed).
Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this key position will be responsible for ensuring strong accounting and reporting throughout the group, including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment and providing strategic information and advice to the management team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting : Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial results in compliance with FRS and company policies. Monitor actual performance versus budget and report variances to management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting : Be a key contributor in the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts and long-term financial planning for the Group.
- Internal Controls : Assist in establishing, monitoring and enforcement of internal controls to ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies. Identify and address any areas of concern.
- Treasury : Manage and oversee the cash flow of the Group and ensure appropriate treasury controls. Oversee / Manage the Group\'s banking and borrowing arrangements.
- Financial Analysis : Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities and areas of concern. Provide recommendations for improvements and strategic decisions.
- Compliance : Develop and ensure internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with regulatory laws and rules for financial, statutory, audit and tax reporting / requirements.
- Cost Control : Monitor cash flow, capital expenditure and working capital management to ensure departmental expenditures are kept within given budgets.
- Liaise with external auditor, tax agents and stakeholders for financial year closing & reporting.
- Liaise with the corporate secretary for secretarial matters, maintain proper filing of Annual Return / XBRL Filing and secretarial related documents.
- Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Management, and make recommendations on both strategy and operations to strategically enhance financial performance, business decisions and opportunities for the Group.
- Work closely with Top Management / Chief Executive Officer to develop the strategic plan.
- Training, mentoring, and development of departmental staff.
- Any other ad-hoc function assigned by the Management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accounting or relevant professional qualification.Minimum 5 years of working experience in a financial controlling position.Candidates with audit experience is an added advantage.Detail-oriented, analytical, problem-solving, and good communication skills.Ability to work independently under pressure and under tight deadlines.Proficient in financial software and MS Office.Able to travel regionally to closely monitor the local finance team.Application questions
