Purpose of the role
The Head Tech APAC (m / f / d) will be responsible for representing the region APAC and all respective markets in the global Tech function, ensuring that we put the customer at the heart of what we do.
The incumbent will have full accountability for providing workplace, infrastructure services and manufacturing IT as well as orchestrating market specific digital and data analytics solution demands. This is all within the overarching goal of fully aligning tech with our business strategy.
The Head TECH APAC will be a member of both the Global TECH Leadership Team and the Regional APAC Leadership Team, with reporting lines to the CTIO and to the regional leadership.
Leadership : Provide strategic leadership to 6 direct and 14 indirect reports in a complex matrix environment, influencing cross‑functional teams without formal authority.
Location : Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai. Travel to support the business when required.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support to APAC businesses, manufacturing sites and functions
- Build a bridge between regional business needs and the functional alignment of the global TECH organization
- Accountable for orchestrating regional and market specific tech solutions and services
- Work closely with key stakeholders to understand business priorities and ensure alignment with deployments of global programs and market‑specific requirements
- Innovation : experience of developing and implementing digital roadmaps (old tech to new tech)
- Own regional IT project portfolio / budget and investments ensuring realization of business outcomes
- Be a change agent within the APAC region with regards to all digital initiatives
- Develop and coach tech employees within the region and ensure built‑up of critical capabilities in line with business priorities
- Participate in global subject matter communities to jointly share the future direction of critical topics such as system & application architecture, cyber security, operating model, etc.
- Responsible for the implementation of cyber security measures in line with global guidelines and policies (incl. awareness campaigns and employee training)
- Orchestrate the Tech roll‑out plans and integration of newly acquired companies and 3rd party partnerships
- SAP : experience in implementing SAP system, technical expertise of SAP core modules (FI / CO, SD, MM, PP, WM, MES); experience implementing SAP‑related integrated interface technologies (development or middleware products) with R3 and S4 software generation experience
- Digital Solutions : understand mainstream digital solutions and manage non‑core functional modules (CRM, HR, DMS, etc.)
Requirements Needed
Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; candidates with other degrees and strong relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.10+ years of experience in leading high functioning IT teams and multi‑site / country projectsProven experience in successfully deploying and implementing IT strategy, standards, systems and processes in or for international commercial and manufacturing‑oriented companiesStrategic minded leader and builder of both vision and bridges, and able to energize teamsAbility to work effectively across cultures and locations, adapting style to different contextsHigh degree of initiative, ownership, and ability to work with little supervision while being resilient to changeAbility to function in a high‑performing environment, lead and motivate direct and indirect reports within the organization and third parties, to achieve short‑and long‑term goalsExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; and ability to communicate IT related concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholdersExcellent analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projectsTeam oriented collaborator paired with execution mentalityFluent in English; Chinese language skills desirable.
