Overview
Sr Facilities Engineer - Mechanical (HVAC) role at Dexcom in Penang, Malaysia. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all mechanical systems related to HVAC are well maintained and consistently operating at peak performance to support business operations. It also offers the opportunity to lead a critical system that supports the entire factory, with tremendous potential for technical knowledge growth and career development.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for day-to-day operations to ensure smooth manufacturing operation, compliance to GMP, Dexcom and Malaysia’s safety / environment standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the entire activities of facilities mechanical HVAC systems operations. Act as the primary system owner interface with site management and Facilities Operation Team.
- Lead, manage and coordinate closely with main contractors, consultants, clients, and sub-contractors to implement in accordance with the scope of work, company, and local codes.
- Support and work closely with Plant EHS.
- Ensure spares / consumables inventory meets critical maintenance requirements.
- Review and develop specific documentation, procedures and site change control processes for equipment and processes.
- Manage the preventive maintenance and calibration program for facilities equipment related to the HVAC system.
- Liaise with government authorities as required.
- Identify and execute improvement and optimisation activities for the mechanical HVAC system.
- Carry out other tasks as directed by the Manager.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge and experience in mechanical HVAC system setup, operations and maintenance such as AHU, MAU, CRAC, FCU and Process Exhaust in medical devices setup.Strong knowledge of integration of HVAC systems to BMS.Strong knowledge of Clean Room (Class 100K) operations.Relevant engineering skills and experience in utility, automation, instrumentation and project management, plant start-up, operations, and maintenance.Understanding and experience of GMP & EHS requirements and external / internal audits.Strong business and customer focus.Good engineering problem solving skills, workload / resource planning and prioritization skills.Ability to accept continuous challenge and improvement of current operations.Organised and a good team player, able to multi-task and work under pressure.Knowledge of Lean Sigma tools (5S / Pareto / 5 Why / DMAIC / RCA / Fishbone analysis) – an added advantage.Knowledge of ISO standards for medical devices and environmental acts – an added advantage.What You’ll Get
