Sr Manager, Configuration Engineering

UCT is seeking a talented Sr Manager, Product & Configuration Engineering to join our team in Penang, Malaysia. The person in this role will lead the Asia team of Product and Configuration Engineers in the field of gas delivery and system integrations. Your global team will manage onboarding of new BTP (Build To Print) documentation, tool refurbish customers / products, support quotation, make / buy decisions, process supplier requests for deviations, review and release of product documentation of the BTP products manufactured at UCT sites. Activities involve coordinating customer changes & related communications within UCT functional groups. You are also responsible for generation and implementation of engineering standards, processes, and methods to ensure consistency of technical documentation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Define project and program objectives, including outcomes, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning for all BTP and refurbish products. Ensure projects and programs are completed according to requirements, focusing on specifications, costs, resource utilization, and timelines. Document all phases of project, program, and process development, and report or transfer information to relevant functional areas. Maintain compliance with company policies, including engineering / lab notebooks, patents, confidentiality, ISO, and safety standards. Utilize resources effectively, including materials and finances. Assign work to staff, fostering professional development and productivity. Coordinate technical support and resolve manufacturing issues as needed. Collaborate with sales to generate documentation and support feasibility studies and quotations for new products. Manage technical communication regarding customer issues and lead RCCA / CAPA activities with the quality team. Optimize BOM review and release activities using computing resources. Set, monitor, and report on productivity and KPIs. Manage departmental budgets and expenses. Perform other duties as assigned. Engage in frequent customer interactions, transfer technical processes to new sites, conduct engineering process audits, and drive automation to reduce labor costs, including the use of Bots / Macros. Standardize processes across sites and reengineer technical processes for cost reduction. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Ability to analyze raw data and create visualizations. Leadership and mentoring skills, with experience in HR management preferred. Strong technical skills with successful experience in operations engineering. Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and interact with customers / vendors for problem-solving. Proficiency in change management, problem-solving, communication, customer focus, product technology, global business, project management, teamwork, and quality application. Knowledge of systems and software such as MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Flowcharting, Agile, SAP, Power BI, Power Automate. CAD design experience is a plus. Experience in contract manufacturing and the semiconductor industry is preferred. Educational / Certification Requirements : Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent. Experience Requirements : 10+ years in engineering. Experience in gas delivery system architecture and components is highly preferred. Refurbish tools / field service experience is desirable.
