Pharmacist

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacy Manager to manage the day to day functioning of the Pharmacy Department
• Offer advice on the prescription and use of medications to medical, nursing and pharmacy staff
• Dispense medication to patients and provide advice on how to take them safely. Counsel patients and appropriate dosing and routes of administration
• Supervise the prescriptions dispensed to patients to ensure their safety, quality, and compliance with applicable law
• Perform activities in the pharmacy area according to hospital policies and directives, standard practices of the profession and pharmacy legislation
• Monitor medication therapy as assigned by medical staff, suggest alternative medication therapy when appropriate
• Supervise staff compounding, label and package medications and pharmaceuticals
• Ensure medications are dispensed with clear instructions and correct labeling to patients
