What's the job?

As a Payroll Consultant, you'll be the backbone of our HR operations across multiple APAC countries from Malaysia and Singapore to China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan. Your role is all about making sure payroll runs smoothly, on time, and in compliance with local laws. You'll also support broader HR operations, ensuring employee records, benefits, and processes are accurate and seamless across borders.

Payroll Management

  • Process monthly payroll across APAC, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax, social security, and labour regulations.
  • Validate payroll inputs (attendance, leaves, bonuses, deductions) and reconcile reports before disbursement.
  • Resolve payroll-related queries promptly and accurately.
  • Liaise with external payroll vendors and ensure seamless delivery.
  • Oversee statutory filings (tax, CPF / EPF, pension, etc.) in compliance with local requirements.
  • Maintain proper payroll records for audits.

HR Operations Support

  • Administer employee lifecycle processes (visa, transfers, promotions, exits).
  • Maintain accurate records in HRIS (SAP / SuccessFactors / Deel).
  • Support benefits administration (insurance, leave, allowances).
  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws and internal policies.
  • Assist in HR audits and provide reports for management.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and vendors to streamline HR processes.
  • Compliance & Reporting

  • Keep up with labour law changes across APAC and ensure payroll / HR compliance.
  • Generate payroll and HR reports for management and regulators.
  • Support year-end payroll processes, including tax filings and bonus calculations.
  • Process Improvement

  • Recommend enhancements to streamline payroll workflows.
  • Support payroll system upgrades, testing, and new implementations.
  • What are we looking for?

  • You will have a diploma or Bachelor's in HR, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of HR operations & payroll experience, ideally in a multi-country APAC setup.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations in at least 2–3 APAC countries.
  • Experience with HRIS (SAP, SuccessFactors, ADP) and payroll systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
  • Strong analytical ability and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills; proficiency in English required, with additional APAC language(s) a plus.
