Job Scope : Special Education TeacherPosition Overview
A Special Education Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized learning programs for children with diverse learning needs, including developmental delays, autism, ADHD, speech / language challenges, and other special needs. The role emphasizes creating an inclusive, supportive, and structured environment that fosters academic, social, emotional, and life skills development.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Learning
Encourage social skills, self-help, and independence in children.
Child Development & Assessment
Conduct baseline and ongoing assessments of children's progress.
Provide regular reports to parents and the management team on child development milestones.
Classroom & Behaviour Management
Create a safe, structured, and predictable classroom environment.
Use assistive tools (visual schedules, PECS, sensory resources) to support participation.
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with parents, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams (e.g., speech therapist, occupational therapist, psychologist).
Communicate effectively with families, offering advice on home strategies for skill reinforcement.
Professional & Administrative Duties
Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and learning resources adapted for special needs learners.
