Primary Purpose of Job
Manage new supplier qualifications and development. Manage supplier PPAP process in new product development or transfer or resourcing project. Manage Production Assurance (Pre-shipment Inspection / Process audit) and Problem Solving. Manage internal customer complaint and warranty follow up. Lead continual improvement internally (GSMA) and externally (supplier side).
Major Responsibilities
- Conduct Quality Audit (SQA) and Social Accountability Audit (SA) to suppliers based on Stanley Black & Decker audit process. Trace improvement plan (CAP) and maintain the audit information into dedicated audit database.
- Conduct Pre-Shipment Inspection (or End of Line audit). Responsible to issue official inspection report, request / review / follow up the CAP form from the supplier, load audit results and maintain the information in the system (e.g., QM).
- Perform In-Process Audit (CAPA or Compliance Audit Process Audit) to Stanley Black & Decker items manufactured by the supplier. Follow up and implement corrective action with the supplier or buying location (division). Maintain information in dedicated audit database.
- Co-work with supplier on all different types of quality complaints and prepare CAP (corrective action plan) to avoid recurrence, including the complaint resource from NCMR / DMR, VOC, warranty. Work with supplier to develop continuous improvement including addressing and following up open issues after Product Launch (Supplier PPAP). Implement Engineering Change from Stanley Black & Decker side and request / support Engineering Change (REA) from the supplier side. Root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, 8D) and Six Sigma project development.
- Guide and facilitate Stanley Black & Decker communication platform extended to the supplier side to improve communication related to engineering / quality control / product specification. Include drawing access through Supplier Connect, material declaration (RSDS), packaging information through Supplier Connect; provide and explain Stanley Black & Decker engineering requirements (EP / ES / PS) when not confidential. Co-work with Purchasing (Purchasing Engineer or Buyer) on developing the supplier, and with Project Engineer to ensure necessary quality concepts / requirements at the supplier side. With regional quality manager’s dedication, SQE could involve new product development as short / medium term support. Co-work with Test Lab to verify product compliance with product specifications.
Requirements
University / college in Mechanical / Electronic Engineering or related field.3+ years working experience in quality control function and new product development.Familiar with common international certifications (ISO 9000, QS 9000, IATF 16949, SA8000).Audit skills to conduct Supplier Qualification Audit, Sustainability and Social Accountability Audit; accountability to supplier side.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Fluent English; strong problem-solving skills (PDCA, 5W, 8D, Lean Six Sigma, SPC).Project management ability; working knowledge of SAP; Minitab a plus.“We Don’t Just Build The World, We Build Innovative Technology Too.” Joining the Stanley Black & Decker team means working in an innovative, tech-driven and highly collaborative environment supported by over 58,000 professionals in 60 countries.
