SAFETY HEALTH OFFICER

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct in‑house SHE training at project sites as determined by the Head of SHE / Department for all categories of the workforce.
• Carry out SHE inspections from time to time as instructed by the Head of SHE / Department, Senior Project Manager and Project Manager to identify and recommend control measures to prevent accidents and incidents.
• Collect and correlate evidence of workers who breach any discipline procedures at the place of work.
• Prepare and process (NCR) with relevant documentation for workers who breach discipline procedures and submit to the Head of SHE / Department.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and prepare reports with recommendations on counter‑measures to be taken.
• Coordinate SHE committee meetings and, as secretary of the SHE committee, prepare minutes of meetings.
• Approve permits to work where appropriate, as and when needed by the Site Agent / Site Manager for excavations or other work requiring a permit.
• Maintain and monitor the OSH Management System and policy.
• Work closely with all levels of KSB Management and clients, consultants to ensure provision of effective supervision at designated project sites.
• Carry out site duties as directed by Site Managers / Site Agents and Project Managers.
• Coordinate and maintain interpersonal relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and local councils.
• Update all statistics accordingly by referring to subcontractor penalty issues.
