The Staff Engineer - Mechanical Design will lead the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical design in a multi-disciplinary environment and multiple types of product development cycles.
Detailed Description
Key responsibilities include :
- Leading the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains.
- Providing technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers.
- Taking responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project.
- Reviewing and interpreting customer requirements / specifications.
- Analyzing trade-offs in complex systems and recommending solutions.
- Leading the deployment of strategic complex programs and coordinating site-wide deployment efforts.
- Preparing calculations on proposed solutions before completing technical drawings.
- Designing, modifying, and implementing systems that meet customer and company needs.
- Creating designs in line with company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
- Submitting drawings to management, engineering teams, and customers for review.
- Using customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve, or repair existing machines.
- Providing support during the manufacturing process.
- Finalizing designs and sending prints to the production department.
Requirements
Experience in mechanical design in a multi-disciplinary environment, and multiple types of product development cycles.Good knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, stress analysis, thermal analysis, and skills to perform kinematics analysis.Good knowledge of industrial standards and system-level environmental compliance.Good understanding of thermal design, EMC, safety, and PCBA design.Expertise in using CAD design tools, specifically Creo, with experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD being a plus.Good skills in Microsoft Office software.Fluent in both written and spoken English, with the ability to work in an international team.Good teamwork attitude, collaboration, and communication skills.Business travel may be required, including overseas travel.Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.Repetitive manual movements are frequently required.Occasional travel may be required.Typical Experience and Education
Typically requires 7 to 10 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
