Planning, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of individualized nursing care which are evidence-based practice; in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary to meet the needs of patients in accordance with Laws and Regulations; Policies and Standard Operating Procedures; International and Malaysian Patient Safety Goals; Accreditation and Nursing Standards; and Professional Code of Conduct.
Job Descriptions :
Perform individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs to establish comprehensive information based on the patient's physiological, emotional, cultural, psychological, and spiritual needs within the timeframe.
Conduct reassessments / ongoing assessments as determined by the patient’s condition to re-prioritize treatment and care accordingly.
Formulate appropriate individualized nursing care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes of care / treatment during shift.
Involve patient and family in all nursing care and discharge plans.
Perform appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.
Deliver nursing care according to plan; procedures and skills competently which are evidence-based practices.
Utilise SBAR to perform clinical handovers demonstrating effective communication on patients care.
Check all medical equipment is functioning and has valid planned preventive maintenance prior to use on patients.
Ensure cleanliness of the unit and all equipment utilized in adherence to Infection Control Policies.
Document all patient assessment findings, physical / psychosocial responses to nursing interventions, progress toward problem resolutions, and communications with physicians.
Provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights.
Ensure consistent delivering care in compliance to the Clinical Governance system, IPSGs / MPSGS, MOH law and regulations, MSQH standards, Nursing standards, and Professional Code of Conduct.
To guide junior staff n) Maintains current competency in the nursing specialty by having : - credentialed and privileged in the following which is not exhaustive of : Administration Moderate sedation Accessing maintenance of blood sampling and medication administration via Port-a-Cath (medical oncology nurse) Care of patient receiving Chemotherapy (medical oncology nurse) - Care of patient receiving radiotherapy (medical oncology nurse) Management of chemotherapy drug spillage (medical oncology nurse)
Obtain authorization to use specialized equipment which is not exhaustive : p) Defibrillator, VS4 patient monitor, ECG machine, PCA (Alaris / Omnifus) Pumps, Infusion / Syringe Pumps, SCD machine etc.
Job Requirements :
Diploma and or Degree in Nursing.
Registered with Malaysian Nursing Board.
Post Basic qualification relevant in specialty / discipline.
BLS and preferably ALS Certification
Able to communicate in English fluently.
