Job Summary :

To provide high-quality geological interpretation and services, focusing on well and seismic data analysis to support exploration and development projects in the Oil & Gas (O&G) sector.

Scope of Work :

The ideal candidate is a mid-to-senior level Geologist with a strong educational background in Geology and 5-8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. The primary responsibilities include :

Well and Seismic Data Analysis :

  • Review well and seismic datasets to develop structural and stratigraphic frameworks.
  • Conduct well correlation, seismic-to-well ties, and regional basin-scale transect analysis.

Structural and Stratigraphic Interpretation :

  • Build structural balancing models and chronostratigraphic diagrams.
  • Interpret sedimentary packages, structural reconstructions, and Gross Depositional Environment (GDE) analysis.
  • Biostratigraphy & Well Tops Interpretation :
  • Apply microfossil biostratigraphy schemes, including foraminifera, palynology, and nannofossils, to determine well tops.

    • Geological Modeling & Basin Analysis :

  • Develop regional structural sections and conduct basin-scale geological interpretations.
  • Technical Documentation & Reporting :
  • Prepare detailed geological reports, manage databases, and produce technical documentation to support project findings.

    • Job Skill Requirements :

  • Proficiency in geological interpretation tools, including Neftex and other relevant geological software.
  • Strong knowledge of biostratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology.
  • Experience in well-seismic integration and correlation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Strong report writing and database management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

    • Qualifications & Experience :

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in geological interpretation in the O&G industry.
  • Experience working with Malaysian Oil & Gas companies is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard geoscience tools and software.
  • Experience working in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
  • Open to Malaysian citizens and expats already in Malaysia.
