Production Technician

Position Overview :

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining highly automated and advanced manufacturing equipment necessary to produce our signature product. This individual will be trained and cross‑trained to both operate and troubleshoot issues across a variety of technologies including heat staking, laser welding, mechanical swaging, printed circuit board (PCB) handling and testing, robotic automation, metal stamping and bending, form / fill / seal medical packaging, and high‑speed discrete component assembly. The Production Technicians are responsible for assisting production engineers and liaise with maintenance team for production project management such as yield improvement, standardization of operating principles including the work instruction update, and continuous improvement in cooperation with different departments. The role will focus efforts on developing Insulet Malaysia into a world‑class manufacturing plant through a heavy emphasis on reliability engineering, standard operating procedures, result‑orientated, hands‑on activities and operational scorecards.

Business needs may necessitate the need to adjust shift start and end times and will require working in shifts.

Responsibilities :

• Perform all tasks and responsibilities delegated by production engineer with respect to the ongoing task and implementation of the improvement plan across the entire production process.
• Follow‑up the trend by machine process scraps to optimize the production performance as required by production engineers.
• Conduct the material side‑by‑side study to evaluate the material variation against the production performance.
• Take readings and data collection to the machine‑to‑machine variation based on the daily data.
• Together with production engineer to review the manufacturing scorecard with the production team regularly to follow up the improvement action items.
• Represent the production department to follow up the verification build or engineering study.
• Able to work in small groups and cross functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify and implement collective corrective actions.
• Follow up the production issue with the production team on a 24 / 7 basis in necessary.
• Perform other duties as required.
