Job Title : Technology Architecture (Application Architect) at OCBC

    • What you do

  • Design and develop technology architecture solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and develop solutions that meet requirements.
  • Understand architecture strategy and roadmap; align design accordingly.
  • Produce design blueprints and best-fit architectural solutions for complete applications and end-to-end designs covering multiple interconnected systems and processes.
  • Update or create architecture frameworks and guiding principles; understand when and how to apply them.
  • Possess in-depth understanding of more than one functional domain in Financial Services.
  • Quickly pick up new domain knowledge (e.g., payments, core banking, wealth).
  • Provide detailed design (sequence diagrams, domain-driven, bounded context, microservices granularity).
  • Deliver business capability while ensuring architecture principles are adhered to; conduct design reviews and define tech stack.
  • Escalate design and implementation challenges to Architecture and Engineering forums for resolution.
  • Collaborate with development and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of technology solutions.
  • Provide regular support / guidance on complex coding, issue resolution and implementation / execution.
  • Be part of a learning culture where teamwork, excellence, and diversity are valued.

    • Who you are

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a technology-related field.
  • Preferably 7 years of experience in technology consulting, enterprise and solutions architecture, and architectural frameworks in Java / J2EE.
  • Preferably 3 years of experience in Microservices architecture, Messaging (Kafka, MQ), and database technologies (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, OracleDB, MSSQL, etc.).
  • Experience or knowledge in payments or core banking type of applications is advantageous.
  • Experience or strong knowledge in Cloud and Infrastructure setup.
  • Exceptional communication skills across all levels of the organization, including written, verbal, and visualizations.
  • Team player with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, honest, and commitment-oriented.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; good situational analysis and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience defining new architectures and driving independent projects from an architectural standpoint.
  • Thought leadership, proactivity, and resourcefulness.
