Program Manager, Environmental Health and Safety, Offsite Infrastructure Delivery and Controls – Google, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Minimum qualifications : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; 5 years of program or project management experience; 5 years of experience in EHS program management and data center construction programs.

Preferred qualifications : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; 5 years of EHS management experience (including proactive safety solutions and metrics reporting) supported by a CSP or similar certification; experience in data center construction program management leading EHS efforts for multi-site projects across geographies; experience working within operational data centers with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction; excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of PM processes and construction agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and ownership of the EHS program for the area construction, oversight, and data collection.
• Ensure contractors deliver on program safety performance expectations and agreement requirements, providing timely solutions to issues.
• Monitor, advise, and assist construction project teams to protect people and the environment and ensure compliance.
• Drive a culture that embraces continuous learning and aligns with organizational goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with the wider construction EHS team to ensure best practices, timely progress reporting, data trend analysis, and risk mitigation without compromising live Data Center operations.

About the Job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish—planning requirements, managing schedules, identifying risks, and communicating with cross-functional partners across the company. Projects span offices, time zones, and hemispheres, requiring coordination and timely updates on progress and deadlines.

You will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of Environmental Health and Safety programs and initiatives across a defined area. You will work with Google Data Center partners, general contractors, electrical / mechanical trades and organizations, key integrators, fabricators, and commissioning agents to improve EHS programs and performance. You will engage in pre-qualification evaluations of potential vendors, update the project manual, and communicate EHS expectations. You will participate in planning, risk mitigation, and on-time delivery, and you will establish and track performance metrics, develop best practices, capture lessons learned, and report to stakeholders to help the organization scale efficiently.
