Job responsibilities
- Production Planning and Execution- Plan, organize, and coordinate daily production schedules to meet customer and business requirements.- Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and adjust staffing levels as needed to optimize efficiency.- Ensure the availability of materials, equipment, and resources to minimize downtime and delays.- Collaborate with other departments, including quality assurance, maintenance, and logistics, to align production efforts with organizational objectives.
- Quality Assurance- Ensure all products meet internal and external quality standards and specifications.- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and documentation.- Promptly address and resolve any quality issues or non-conformances.- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement on the production floor.
- Safety and Compliance- Enforce adherence to company health and safety regulations and best practices.- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of production areas.- Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, and efficiency.- Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, achievements, and areas for improvement.- Analyse production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.- Participate in regular management meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
- Process Improvement- Identify, recommend, and implement process enhancements to drive productivity and cost savings.- Lead or participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.- Encourage staff involvement in problem-solving and innovation.
- Resource Management- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of machinery, tools, and equipment.- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance and minimize unplanned downtime.- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to support production schedules
