Purpose of the Role : To manage month-end and year-end closing processes, manage GL & AP to ensure expenses in daily operations comply with established policies and procedures, and meet all deadlines for statutory requirements.
What You’ll Do
Daily activities :
- Process invoices, petty cash, and staff claims in the system with accuracy and completeness; address discrepancies and provide analysis to management.
- Review SOA and communicate with respective users in a timely manner.
- Perform testing scripts from Regional / Unit teams.
- Maintain system data and configuration – vendor, cost centre, profit centre, etc.
- Process intercompany invoices, billing, payments, and perform reconciliations.
- Process and maintain records for assets and liabilities (CAPEX, ROU, accruals, prepayments).
- Review and reconcile long-outstanding balance sheet items and clear when needed.
- Provide timely updates to the manager on operational issues, system leakage, and problematic users.
- Assist in budgeting processes and prepare CAPEX and OPEX budget templates.
- Develop and maintain ad-hoc reports; participate in special / ad-hoc projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.
Monthly closing activities :
Obtain information / explanations from respective departments.Prepare computations and analyze before raising journals.Prepare month-end journals for completeness and accuracy.Run automated closing processes in SAP (e.g., depreciation, forex).Prepare full sets of accounts for small-size entities.Complete month-end closing tasks within the communicated timeline.Report to manager on matters arising during closing.Statutory filing and requirements :
Manage 1 to 2 entities / companies as required.Independently manage auditors / tax agents and provide necessary data.Process statutory payments in a timely manner.Submit necessary submissions to meet legal or statutory requirements.Internal and external stakeholders :
Foster close working relationships with key contacts in respective departments to resolve operational issues; perform data retrieval and analysis to support the finance team and management decisions.Interact with vendors, external auditors, tax agents, and government officers in a proactive and responsive manner to meet deadlines and requirements.Teamwork :
Collaborate effectively with the team, maintain good relationships, and resolve conflicts constructively; leverage relationships to gain knowledge and experience.Note : The scope of finance duties will be shared equally among team members with equivalent roles.
