Job Scope & Responsibilities

1. Training & Learning

  • Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Understand machining processes, materials, and tolerances.
  • Familiarize with CNC machine tools (lathe, turning, etc.).
  • Study CNC programming basics.

2. Machine Operation Support

  • Assist in setting up CNC machines under supervision.
  • Load / unload raw materials, workpieces, and cutting tools.
  • Observe and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Carry out basic measurements and inspections with calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.

    • 3. Production Assistance

  • Support experienced machinists in producing precision parts.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions.
  • Perform simple adjustments to feeds, speeds, or offsets as instructed.
  • Ensure finished parts meet required specifications and quality standards.

    • 4. Maintenance & Safety

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the machine and work area.
  • Conduct basic machine maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, tool changes).
  • Follow all workplace safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

    • 5. Growth & Development

  • Progressively learn CNC programming and setup independently.
  • Gain skills to operate multiple machines and perform more complex tasks.
  • Work towards becoming a fully qualified CNC Machinist.
