Responsibilities
- Level 1, 2 and 3 problem resolution
- 24 x 7 availability to attend critical system issues
- Under minimal supervision partner with other teams to plan, coordinate, design, configure, install, and maintain Intel based systems
- Review, maintain and monitor system reliability and performance
- Install and configure new server hardware and operating system
- Perform patching and updates on server OS and hardware
- Review and enforce security and server policy
- Involve in Problem log, RCA, and Problem Management log
- Act as technical project leader for projects with small budgets or limited duration
- Work with vendors and partners to ensure hardware and software are delivered / configured according to specification
- Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support on daily operations covering servers (hardware and operating system)
- Ensure daily review and monitoring of servers and infrastructure components security
- Review and validate periodic performance reports to ensure capacity, performance and availability are at optimum level
- Perform Windows updates according to planned patching schedule
- Review and document changes to existing servers to avoid system interruption and business impact
- Monitor and manage the resolution of problems within infrastructure, including root cause analysis
- Engage with vendors and other internal teams for planned maintenance activities
Qualifications
Candidate must possess at least a higher Diploma or Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Engineering / telecommunications, or equivalentVMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) (preferred)Nutanix Certified Associate (preferred)Microsoft Certified Professional (preferred)Good communication and interpersonal skills5 or more years of experience on Microsoft Windows Operating System, VMware vSphere, and Nutanix - design, deployment and maintenanceServer hardware OS installation and troubleshooting (rack mount servers, local RAID setup, firmware upgrades, blade server concept, parts replacement)Server OS troubleshooting (memory dump, network trace, performance counters)Windows Server OS maintenance (OS cleanup, Windows Updates and Patches)Operating System installation and configuration (Windows cluster setup, Internet Information Services, Remote Desktop Services)Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (user creation, GPO settings, DNS)OS performance monitoring (CPU, memory, disk)OS security controlsKnowledge of network concepts (DNS, DHCP, routing, IP, load balancing, VLAN)Basic network troubleshooting (IP settings, route table, network packet capture)Server virtualization concepts (virtual machines, hypervisor)Server virtualization knowledge (create VMs, perform snapshot, change VM settings, perform P2V migration)Storage concepts (RAID, storage controllers, HBA cards)Experience with Citrix XenApp server administration preferredExperience with Windows patching procedures (WSUS or SCCM)Experience with Symantec Anti-Virus / McAfee preferredSeniority level
