About the role
In this role as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality standards of semiconductor products throughout the manufacturing process. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including R&D, Production, Process Engineering, and Customer Service—to ensure product compliance with both internal and external requirements.
What You Will Do
Lead and collaborate with process teams on continuous improvement projects aligned with quality objectives. Support the development and implementation of systemic actions driven by quality strategies
Drive enhancements in quality systems related to MRB (Material Review Board), OCAPs, and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
Coordinate qualification and validation of new products or process changes with cross-functional project teams.
Provide quality support and buy-off for NPI (New Product Introduction) and new product ramp-up qualifications.
Support internal and external audits, including compliance with IATF 16949 standards.
Monitor and analyze in-line quality metrics, defect trends.
Lead and contribute to quality improvement initiatives such as 8D, FMEA, and SPC.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including Control Plans, Quality Alerts, and Inspection Standards.
Review QA roving audits, track improvement actions, and evaluate their ongoing effectiveness.
Track and follow up on LOH (Lot on Hold) improvement actions, assess their effectiveness, and ensure proper closure with the MEEQ teams.
Support investigations into customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and feedback.
Monitor and manage process OCAPs (Out-of-Control Action Plans) and lot-on-hold dispositions. Ensure timely scoping, quarantine of affected equipment, and containment of at-risk lots in in-process, outgoing, and inventory-with-hold (IWH) stages.
Identify and assess risks in in-process QA monitoring, internal audits, and firewall gates. Escalate critical issues, rising reject trends, and process deviations promptly.
What You Will Need
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment with strong process knowledge.
Experience in manufacturing / process quality and handling customer complaints.
Familiarity with learning management systems and quality standards such as IATF 16949.
Results-driven, creative, and innovative mindset.
Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in SPC, process data analysis, and problem-solving.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience in FMEA, cross-site sharing, failure analysis, and reliability assessment.
Experience in internal audits according to IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 standards.
Analytical mindset with risk-based thinking.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
