Overview
We are seeking a hands-on IT Executive / IT Manager to take full ownership of IT operations, infrastructure, and compliance as we scale from ~20 to ~30 staff. This role combines day-to-day IT support and systems administration with strategic responsibilities in data protection (PDPA), cybersecurity, and productivity platform evaluation (Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365 cost–benefit analysis).
The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to research, learn, and grow, while driving measurable improvements in IT resilience, compliance, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Asset & License Management
Maintain a centralized inventory of company-owned and BYOD devices (laptops, desktops, peripherals, and on-premises servers).
Track assignment, warranty, lifecycle, and ensure timely procurement for new hires.Manage software licensing and subscriptions, consolidating where possible for efficiency.Data Backups & RecoveryDesign and operate a 3-2-1 backup strategy (daily incremental, weekly full, off-site / cloud).
Perform monthly restore drills and quarterly scope validation to ensure backup integrity.Provide reporting on backup job success and recovery time objectives (RTO / RPO).User Lifecycle Management (Joiners / Movers / Leavers)Provision and configure accounts (Google Workspace, or Microsoft 365 if adopted), groups, and access permissions.
Prepare and harden laptops for new staff (encryption, firewall, antivirus / EDR, secure baseline).Manage offboarding processes : revoke access, recover devices, back up data, and securely sanitize equipment.Maintain standardized onboarding / offboarding checklists and SOPs.Network & ConnectivityAdminister broadband connection, single floor switch, and wireless APs.
Monitor performance, apply firmware updates, and plan for capacity as staff numbers grow.Act as point of contact for ISP and vendors; manage SLAs and issue escalation.Maintain network diagrams, configuration records, and uptime logs.Cybersecurity & ComplianceEnforce endpoint hardening baselines (encryption, patching, MFA, firewall, least privilege).
Conduct scheduled vulnerability scans and patch management with remediation tracking.Manage the company’s password manager (e.g., vaults, shared accounts, password policy).Maintain incident response playbooks and participate in periodic security reviews.PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act 2024 / 25) ComplianceSupport or act as Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Assist in developing and maintaining data inventory and classification.Help draft and roll out PDPA policies (data retention, subject access, breach notification, third-party processing).Support staff awareness and training activities.Assist in creating and testing a breach response plan.Productivity & Collaboration Tools (Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365)Perform a cost–benefit analysis of migrating from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365.
Present findings and recommendations to management.If approved, lead the migration project (mail, calendar, file storage, collaboration tools).Deploy Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Power BI if adopted.Ensure smooth adoption with proper security controls and training.IT Support & Service QualityProvide responsive end-user support and incident resolution.
Manage a lightweight ticketing system with internal SLAs.Document FAQs and self-service guides to reduce support overhead.Backup plan operational, with first restore drill completed.MFA enforced across all accounts; all company-owned devices encrypted and inventoried.Network baseline documented; firmware brought up to date.Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365 cost–benefit analysis delivered; roadmap and migration plan proposed.Requirements
Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure (laptops, servers, networks).Familiarity with user lifecycle management and device hardening.Basic knowledge of backups and recovery methods.Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.Nice-to-Have / Growth Areas
