Job Summary
The Equipment Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, improvement, and troubleshooting of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to ensure stable operation, high production efficiency, and product quality. This role plays a key part in supporting continuous improvement of equipment reliability and manufacturing performance within the molding facility. Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Management Conduct daily inspection and preventive maintenance of injection molding machines, robots, chillers, compressors, and other related equipment. Develop and implement maintenance schedules (daily, monthly, and annual) to ensure optimal machine performance. Perform equipment calibration and parameter adjustments according to molding and production requirements. 2. Fault Maintenance Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or abnormalities, diagnose root causes, and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime. Propose and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring failures and improve equipment reliability. Record all maintenance activities and prepare repair reports for review and tracking. 3. Equipment Improvement and Upgrades Analyze equipment performance data and propose technical improvements to enhance machine efficiency, cycle time, and energy consumption. Support the setup and commissioning of new machines and equipment, including installation, testing, and acceptance. Stay updated with the latest molding technology trends and recommend suitable automation or system upgrades. 4. Spare Parts and Documentation Management Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement to ensure availability of critical components. Maintain and update equipment documentation, including maintenance logs, manuals, drawings, and service records. Utilize ERP or maintenance management systems to record and monitor equipment history and performance. 5. Safety Management Ensure all maintenance and operational activities comply with safety standards and company policies. Train and guide operators and technicians on safe equipment handling and emergency procedures. Participate in risk assessments and implement improvements to minimize equipment-related hazards. 6. Cross-Department Coordination Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Process Engineering teams to ensure equipment performance meets production targets. Provide technical support during new mold trials, product changeovers, and process optimization activities. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline. Minimum 2–5 years of working experience in equipment maintenance within the
injection molding
or
plastics manufacturing
industry. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in molding machinery. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining injection molding machines Familiar with preventive maintenance systems, ERP tools, and safety standards. Good analytical, teamwork, and communication skills.
