As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance and Account Manager to join our leadership team and oversee our financial health.

Position Overview

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Finance and Account Manager to oversee all aspects of our company's financial and accounting operations. This role is crucial for driving financial planning, managing risks, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, with a focus split of approximately 60% on financial management and strategy and 40% on accounting oversight and control. You will directly manage a small team consisting of one Accounts Receivable (AR) and one Accounts Payable (AP) specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Strategy

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) : Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making by the management team.

  • Cost Management & Control : Oversee company-wide costs, identify areas for efficiency improvement, and implement cost-control measures to enhance profitability.
  • Cash Flow Management : Manage the company's cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs and strategic investments. Forecast cash flow positions and related borrowing needs.
  • Management Reporting : Prepare and present timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
  • Business Partnering : Act as a financial advisor to department heads, providing financial guidance on contracts, investments, and business initiatives.
  • Risk Management : Identify and mitigate financial risks. Ensure adequate internal controls are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Accounting Operations & Compliance

    • Oversee Accounting Functions : Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.

  • Team Leadership : Supervise, mentor, and develop the AR and AP specialists, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Financial Reporting : Ensure the preparation of accurate statutory financial statements in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
  • Taxation & Compliance : Oversee all tax matters, including GST / SST submissions, corporate tax estimations, and liaising with external auditors and tax agents to ensure full compliance with Malaysian regulations.
  • Audit Coordination : Lead the annual audit process, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • System & Process Improvement : Continuously review and improve accounting systems, processes, and policies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    • Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and cost management.
  • Strong knowledge of MFRS, GST / SST, and Malaysian tax regulations.
  • Experience managing a team is essential.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
