Responsibilities
Conduct daily workplace safety inspections across workplace area including production, warehouse, maintenance and offices area.
Monitor PPE compliance among employees and contractors.
Identify and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
Follow up on incident, accident, and near‑miss reports.
Conduct toolbox meetings and line briefings with production or maintenance teams.
Verify machinery guarding, emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and safety signage.
Check contractor SHE compliance before and during site work.
Conduct SHE induction training for new workers and contractors.
Conduct random inspections at the Schedule Waste (SW) storage area.
Review ISO 14001 documentation and support aspect‑impact study updates.
Lead to setting up ISO 45001.
Conduct Monthly Safety & EMS Committee Meeting.
Conduct internal safety, waste management, and chemical handling training.
Update poison inventory and usage records.
Organize annual fire and emergency drills.
Conduct refresher trainings (Emergency response, ISO awareness).
Coordinate with consultants for Noise Risk Assessment (NRA) and Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA).
Other duties as assigned by superior.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, engineering, or a related field and have valid Green Book (DOSH Registered) .
Request minimum 3 years of working experience in manufacturing environment.
Candidate who able to read, write and speak Mandarin / Chinese will have added advantage as he may need to communicate with China colleagues.
Candidates who possess the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and the Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) certification offered by the BCSP will adding advantages.
Have a strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and standards relevant to manufacturing industry and jurisdiction. This may include regulations such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory bodies.
Safety officers should possess technical skills related to hazard identification, risk assessment, safety management systems, and incident investigation. Proficiency in using safety equipment, software tools, and data analysis techniques may also be required.
