Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development : Design and update comprehensive Interior Design / Interior Architecture courses that reflect the latest industry trends and academic standards.
 - Teaching Excellence : Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions across a variety of Interior Design / Interior Architecture subjects, incorporating cutting-edge technologies and software.
 - Student Assessment : Create and evaluate examinations, assignments, and projects to gauge student knowledge and skills, providing constructive feedback.
 - Research Contribution : Conduct and publish impactful research in the Interior Design / Interior Architecture field and supervise student research projects and theses.
 - Professional Development : Remain current with technological advancements and pedagogical strategies through continued education and active participation in academic communities.
 - Community and Industry Engagement : Collaborate with industry experts to ensure curriculum relevance and foster opportunities for student placements.
 - Mentorship : Offer academic advice and personal mentorship to students, guiding them towards academic and professional success.
 
Job Requirements
Bachelor\'s degree in Interior Design / Interior Architecture / ArchitectureRegistered Interior Design with LAM (IDr.)10 years minimum of working experience in Interior Design industriesMinimum Competencies
Applicants can be from the category of compulsory retirees based on IIUM compulsory retirement age from IIUM, other higher learning institutions; or distinguished figures from the industries, civil service or professionals.Malaysian and International applicants are welcome to apply.A blend of academic qualifications, teaching abilities, research skills, and personal attributes.Prior experience in teaching and research in the higher education sector is an added advantage.Other Requirements
A strong foundation and knowledge in Interior Design / Interior Architecture.Proficiency or specialization in any of the following areas :Interior Design Professional PracticeBuilding materials and finishesExcellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsA strong track record of published research and participation in the academic community is highly desirable.Language Qualifications
For Malaysian citizens : Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language (including oral examination) at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4. Candidates without any of these qualifications will be required to take the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.Job Benefits
