The Brand Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall strategic direction, growth, and expansion of the brand across the Malaysia and Singapore markets. This role is a critical general management function, requiring strong commercial acumen and the ability to make data-driven decisions on buying, pricing, and inventory to drive profitability. The Manager will lead the execution of integrated, brand strategies, ensuring alignment across all retail, digital, and wholesale channels while respecting local market differences.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Strategy & Regional Commercial Acumen
- Strategic Planning : Develop and implement strategies to enhance brand positioning and market presence, clearly defining the Brand DNA and target market for regional differentiation.
- Regional Strategy : Develop and execute country-specific playbooks that support regional brand scalability while applying cultural nuance in brand execution for Malaysia and Singapore.
- Business Management : Own the P&L, tracking sales against investment, managing trade margins, and ensuring all decisions are financially sound.
- Forecasting & Reporting : Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly sales analysis, prepare comprehensive business plans, and provide status reports for the SBU Head and principals.
Go-To-Market & Digital Integration
Channel Strategy : Define the optimal channel mix strategy (retail, digital, wholesale) and ensure a cohesive product launch and campaign rollout.Digital & E-Commerce : Drive the brand's commercial results across online channels through marketplace merchandising, D2C platform optimization, and digital promotional planning.Marketing & Customer Engagement : Coordinate campaigns (in-store, digital, social, PR) and leverage CLP / CRM integration for data-informed marketing and better customer targeting.Assortment Planning : Work closely with the Merchandising team / Buyer on product buying decisions, including SKU rationalization, line architecture, and tracking the product lifecycle.Inventory Coordination : Oversee seasonal product sell-through, ensure correct buying and merchandising allocations, and manage the inventory for optimal product mix.Pricing Strategy : Evaluate and implement pricing and markdown strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining market competitiveness in both Malaysia and Singapore.Stakeholder Management
Cross-Functional Execution : Ensure brand plans are implemented effectively by coordinating with Merchandising, Sales, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, and Finance teams.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or any related field.5-8+ years of relevant experience in brand management or retail management, with demonstrated leadership in strategy development and execution. Experience managing the Malaysia / Singapore market is a distinct advantage.Skills and Competencies
