THE ROLE
AMD’s Human Resources team is seeking an Employee Relations Manager —a thoughtfully adaptable and technically proficient individual. This vital role involves direct interactions with employees, managers, Country leaders, conducting complex investigations, managing performance‑related cases, misconduct cases, and providing strategic direction on ER matters to leaders. The employee will consult managers on handling complex employee situations, interpret the employment laws of the country, and align HR systems and workflows with legal, industry, and best‑practice standards to support a diverse and inclusive workplace and elevate operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage complex employee relations investigations with limited supervision, maintaining confidentiality, neutrality, fairness, and adopting best workplace investigation practices. Handle allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bullying, misconduct, bias, and other inappropriate behavior across Southeast Asian regions (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Japan). Conduct robust investigations into employee complaints and allegations of misconduct in a timely, fair, and balanced manner. Partner with legal counsel as needed and follow investigations through to resolution. Maintain accurate files, documentation, and follow‑up.Effectively handle employee relations issues and concerns, minimizing corporate risk and improving employee experience.Exhibit strong professional judgment, emotional intelligence, and collaboration across functions and regions. Communicate effectively with cross‑functional partners including HR, Legal, HR Ops, Talent Acquisition, Talent Relations, Government Relations, and business leaders.Articulate local law guidance and provide strategic ER advice to leadership teams for labor compliance and regulation changes. Serve as SPOC for APJ Leadership on ER matters, consult difficult employee conversations, and support conflict resolution.Partner and assist the Corporate Investigations team in conducting local employee investigations.Work collaboratively on employee relations matters such as corrective actions including warnings or performance improvement plans.Review and enhance policies, evaluating risks, and work with legal advisors to ensure compliance with legislation.Proactively lead the delivery and deployment of new ER practices and review / redefine existing ones.Support all labor compliance activities, audits, and state law requirements.Continuously identify gaps, propose, and implement changes and innovative solutions. Develop metrics and leverage analytics to track progress of ER programs and create comprehensive review decks for the Leadership team.Build and maintain an online repository of knowledge and best practices for easy access and retrieval.Improve employee experience across all HR life‑cycle functions.Participate in the development and delivery of management training programs designed to advance employees’ ER skills. Facilitate training to build ER skills among people managers.Assist with ad‑hoc employee relations and HR department projects.Make suggestions to leaders and HR Business Partners on employee engagement, policy or process improvements based on trends and risks.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Strong ER experience leading investigations and consulting on Southeast Asian employee relations matters, with vast knowledge across HR functions focused on conflict management, harassment, retaliation, performance management, favoritism.Expertise in labor laws and compliance across Southeast Asian countries, Australia, and Japan.Exceptional communication, case documentation, report writing, executive presentation, and relationship development skills.Ability to navigate ambiguity, think creatively, be flexible, and roll up sleeves.Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with a growth mindset and commitment to continual learning.Demonstrated history of assuming sole independent responsibility for projects.Highly collaborative, able to work within and across global teams.Experience in a high‑growth, fast‑paced matrix environment.Professional, confident manner, poised and articulate demeanor.Ability to work effectively with a wide array of personality types and all job levels.Demonstrated history of exemplary ethics and integrity, including handling confidential information.Commitment to the identification and resolution of business issues, whether rooted in business problems or compliance concerns.Ability to exercise discretion regarding sensitive employee matters.Culture champion, promoting company values to drive decision making.ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.Employment Law degree is an added advantage.Degree or certification in Employment Acts, Industrial Relations, Counseling and Coaching.LOCATION
