NPI Engineer

Job Description Summary

The NPI Engineer has ownership of Repair industrialization in their shop prioritized by SQDC. The candidate will work with key stakeholders on-site and remote to deliver the repair industrialization plan. The NPI Engineer will be responsible for technical project planning and execution that results in growth of the site’s repair capability portfolio.

Role Overview

• Subject Matter Expert : Provides business case input to engineering / cost leaders, evaluates the need for P&E, costs for special tooling, productivity estimates for the shop to improve productivity. Assess shop capacity / capability to perform the NPI. Project manages through an action plan with deliverables and committed dates.
• Compliance : Review repair draft, manage, facilitate and coordinate shop trials with technical guidance from SPOs, procure scraps parts. Collaborates and coordinates closely with SPOs, Operations, Quality and Repair Engineering to facilitate approval of repair documents in the Repair Builder.
• Documentation : Enable all internal quality approvals such as routers and data sheet generation with characteristic accountability. Submit the Repair Source Substantiation to Repair Engineering. Submit cost information to Marketing / Finance and add hours per piece to capacity model, and New Repairs to capability list. Supports the perfection review and hands off to production.
• Flight Deck : Support SQDC daily management utilizing lean fundamentals to facilitate technical problem solving and a continuous improvement culture. Support YOY site productivity targets.
• Consultation : Establishing best practice in router creation and sharing best practices in dual sources.

Ideal Candidate

Candidate will have strong Project Management background, understanding the business's needs and key stakeholders' responsibilities in order to execute NPI projects. The candidate should also have a background in shift operations and process engineering to create a production line that is safe for technicians, provides good yield (Quality) with good Turn Around Time post NPI. Ideal candidate should have a technical degree with at least 5 years of experience and demonstrated background in working with multiple stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Advanced experience in Engineering / Technology & Project Management. Minimum 3 to 7 years of experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Engineer, Project Management, or similar roles.

Good and deep understanding of aviation MRO operations cross-functionally is preferred.

Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a related technical, engineering, or science degree program.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems; thinks creatively for solutions and seeks help when needed.

Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs with established project management skills.

Resourceful in ensuring proper utilization of resources of key stakeholders.

Clear thinking and understanding of how to utilize stakeholders’ roles and responsibilities to keep the project moving.
