Job Responsibilities : -

1. Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead, motivate, and support the pet department team to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Provide on-the-job training to staff on product knowledge, customer service, and operational processes.
  • Set daily and weekly goals for team members and monitor performance.
  • Foster a positive work environment, ensuring team collaboration and morale.
  • Address and resolve any team-related issues or conflicts in a professional and timely manner.

2. Customer Service Excellence

  • Ensure that customers receive exceptional service by managing and guiding the team to deliver personalized, friendly, and knowledgeable assistance.
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, or issues regarding products, services, or store policies promptly and effectively.
  • Actively engage with customers on the sales floor to build relationships and promote products.
  • Implement strategies to enhance customer loyalty and encourage repeat visits.
  • 3. Sales Performance and Stock Management

  • Work with the Shop Manager to achieve sales and revenue targets for the pet department.
  • Track sales performance and adjusted strategies to ensure targets are met.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, order accuracy, and stocktaking.
  • Ensure products are well displayed, properly labeled, and within the best condition for sale.
  • Perform regular audits of inventory levels to minimize stock discrepancies and prevent shrinkage.
  • 4. Operational Efficiency

  • Ensure the pet department operates smoothly, with efficient processes in place for opening, closing, and maintaining store standards.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the department.
  • Implement and maintain merchandising strategies, ensuring product displays are visually appealing and aligned with marketing guidelines.
  • Support the Shop Manager in managing operational tasks such as ordering, scheduling, and handling customer transactions.

    5. Compliance and Training

  • Ensure that all team members follow company policies and procedures, including safety standards, cash handling, and inventory control.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Stay updated on pet-related trends and product knowledge to enhance sales opportunities and provide accurate advice to customers.
  • 6. Reporting and Administration

  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, stock levels, team performance, and customer feedback to the Shop Manager.
  • Assist in planning promotional campaigns and events to drive traffic and sales.
  • Support the Shop Manager in analyzing key performance metrics and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Additional Duties and Responsibilities :

    The employee may be required to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor or management. These tasks may be within or outside the scope of their primary job responsibilities and are intended to support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department and organization. Assignments may vary based on business needs, operational priorities, and organizational changes. Employees are expected to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute to the success of the team by undertaking such additional tasks as needed.

    Job Requirements : -

  • Bachelor's Degree in Retail Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in retail management.
  • Previous experience in the pet retail industry is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of pet care products, pet breeds, and animal-related services is highly preferred.
  • Experience in visual merchandising and store layout planning.
  • Ability to plan and execute promotional events or in-store activities.
  • Knowledge of stock management software and systems to track inventory and sales.
