About the Role
Senior Manager, Tax Advisory plays a key role in providing expert tax advice and strategic support across the group’s operations. This role focuses on tax planning, interpretation of tax laws, and ensuring the group’s business decisions are tax-efficient and compliant with local and international regulations. The Senior Manager will partner closely with finance, legal, and business teams to advise on transactions, structuring, and cross-border operations while proactively identifying tax risks and opportunities.
Responsibilities
Tax Advisory & Planning
- Provide technical tax advice on business initiatives, contracts, and transactions across the group.
- Support tax planning projects, including group restructuring, new entity setup, and investment initiatives.
- Conduct tax search and prepare position on complex tax matters.
- Analyze implications of new and evolving tax laws, including transfer pricing, BEPS, and digital taxation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure tax advice is aligned with business strategy and operational realities.
Cross-functional Support
Work with internal departments to assess the tax impact of commercial arrangements.Review agreement / contracts and advise on tax-efficient structuring.Assist in the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements.Liaise with external advisors and consultants for specialized matters or jurisdictional interpretations.Risk Management & Compliance Support
Assist in managing tax audits, reviews, and assessments by preparing necessary documentation and responses.Identify potential areas of tax risk and recommend mitigation strategies.Maintain records to support tax positions taken and ensure readiness for audit review.Contribute to internal tax policy development and training initiatives.Study budgets, new tax rulings / changes, and their implications for the organization.Qualifications
Educational Background : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.Certifications : Professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CTIM) or equivalent professional qualification.Required Skills
Proficient in financial management software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Experience
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in tax advisory, preferably in a Big 4 firm or a multinational corporate environment.Strong knowledge of corporate tax laws, international tax principles, and transfer pricing regulations.Experience with cross-border tax issues and transaction structuring is preferred.Seniority level
