Director of Sales & Marketing (Based in Singapore) — The Sirēya Desaru Coast is looking for a Director of Sales & Marketing to join our Sales & Marketing Department. The Sirēya is a rainforest retreat on Desaru Coast, where jungle meets the sea and Malaysian nature, culture, and connection come alive in a balance of calmness and vibrancy. The Sirēya Desaru Coast represents a luxury experience with a strong emphasis on service inspired by Asian heritage.
About The Job
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for the efficient running of the entire Rooms Division through achieving budgeted Colleagues Satisfaction, Guest Satisfaction and GOP results for each area.
Responsibilities
- Align management style, working practices and conduct with The Sirēya Desaru Coast’s vision, Global Support values, operating standards and policies. Comply with The Sirēya Desaru Coast’s code of conduct at all times.
- Personally build clear and open lines of communication with all departments.
- Understand and abide by all government laws relating to the Sales and Marketing department.
- Develop strategies and initiatives to increase the hotel’s market share.
- Understand Malaysia business trends in terms of targeting the right market and be aware of the country’s political uplift.
- Collaborate with the Director, F&B to create, implement and assess Food & Beverage promotions and marketing.
- Maintain The Sirēya Desaru Coast’s International programs.
- Maintain high operating standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and control all financial aspects of the business, including the annual business plan.
- Add value through revenue growth and operational efficiency; focus on driving sales, associate and customer satisfaction, profitability, and quality.
- Build a diverse team and foster inclusive collaboration to optimize performance.
- Align plans with business strategy; understand short- and long-term impacts of decisions.
- Work with Finance in tour operator contracting and organize tours to showcase the hotel regularly.
- Travel to attend business fairs and meet with tour operators to enhance business opportunities for the hotel.
- Ensure all communications reflect The Sirēya Desaru Coast brand image.
- Conduct regular events, key account appointments and activities to keep important contacts engaged.
- Develop and maintain rapport with key community contacts for visibility.
- Conduct competitor analysis and keep EXCOM informed of market conditions.
- Devise and implement plans to maximize rooms and Food & Beverage yield.
- Interact with festive guests to explore additional business opportunities for future years.
- Be knowledgeable of Fire Evacuation, Emergency procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements; ensure duty of care compliance.
- Be innovative and create an environment that trains, develops, and mentors colleagues.
- Dedicate time to personal development.
- Develop policy, formulate direction and strategy as required.
- Conduct weekly SMART Plan reviews with direct reports to follow up on goals and objectives.
- Participate in sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings.
- Drive GSQ action plan follow-ups with direct reports.
- Conduct monthly walkthroughs with Engineering, Housekeeping and DH to maintain standards.
- Deliver a monthly report on key issues, developments, outstanding works, and financial concerns to GM and EXCOM.
- Directly manage certain departments as assigned by GM.
- Undertake additional duties as requested by the General Manager.
Qualifications
Ability to lead, motivate and develop colleagues.Be innovative, financially savvy, and connect emotionally with guests and internal customers.Be well-versed in The Sirēya Desaru Coast’s competencies.2 years’ experience in a similar position on an executive committee level.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; people management skills.Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.Proficiency with technology to advance Sales & Marketing goals.Master in Business Administration / Sales & Marketing.Benefits & Our Commitment to You
