Vet Assistant

Job Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care, including handling and restraining animals during examinations and treatments.
• Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and setting up equipment and supplies.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Assist with taking X-rays and laboratory sample collection, such as blood and urine.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update medical charts.
• Monitor patients' conditions during recovery and alert veterinarians to any changes.
• Provide general care for hospitalized animals, including feeding, walking, and cleaning cages.
• Educate pet owners on general pet care, preventive medicine, and post-treatment care instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the clinic, including sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
• Support the front desk with scheduling appointments, handling phone calls, and managing client check-ins as needed.
