Job Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care, including handling and restraining animals during examinations and treatments.
- Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and setting up equipment and supplies.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Assist with taking X-rays and laboratory sample collection, such as blood and urine.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical charts.
- Monitor patients' conditions during recovery and alert veterinarians to any changes.
- Provide general care for hospitalized animals, including feeding, walking, and cleaning cages.
- Educate pet owners on general pet care, preventive medicine, and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the clinic, including sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Support the front desk with scheduling appointments, handling phone calls, and managing client check-ins as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate or diploma in Veterinary Assisting is a plus.Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care environment is preferred.Strong passion for animal welfare and a compassionate attitude.Ability to handle animals safely and with care.Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.Basic knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology is a plus.Physical stamina to lift and move pets and equipment as needed.Good sales ability / skillAble to work with animals cat / dogFast and proactiveRespectful with great working attitudeJob Information
