Product Engineer

Responsibilities

• Handle product transfer and new product set‑up.
• Support production by assessing product engineering issues on the production line.
• Suggest process improvements to achieve better quality and yield.
• Resolve product‑related problems and conduct failure evaluation.
• Interact with customers and various departments regarding product issues.
• Work with the design team to resolve design‑related issues.
• Modify work instructions, material, or product changes to ensure excellent quality.
• Evaluate and define the customer’s Bill of Materials (BOM) for production.
• Review functional product documentation.
• Identify safety requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Interpret engineering drawings of parts and assemblies.
• Request drawing corrections, additions, clarifications, and measurement methods from the customer.
• Implement engineering changes, conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM), tolerance evaluation, Design of Experiment (DOE), and root cause analysis.
• Support supply chain integration for parts derived from vertical integration or localization efforts.
• Provide product training to manufacturing / process engineers.
• Handle golden samples, engineering samples, or final product pieces.
• Maintain standard methods for technical information interchange with customers.
• Inspect customer product parts and assemblies through CAD model files.
• Assess and act on Product Change Notification (PCN) and Manufacturing Change Order (MCO).
• Assume additional responsibilities of a Manufacturing Engineer as needed.
