Consulting Associate (Defense and Security Program)

Overview
Command Group is seeking current or former military professionals to serve as Consulting Associates supporting high‑profile defense and security program in the Gulf region. The initiative involves strategic analysis, capability planning, and institutional support for senior defense counterparts. Consulting Associates will join a multidisciplinary team of experienced advisors, analysts, and regional experts. The role calls for individuals who combine operational experience with strong analytical and writing skills, and who are willing to work hands‑on to research, analyze, and produce the program’s deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct structured analysis and research on defense and security topics, including strategic trends, capability planning, and organizational effectiveness.
Support the development of frameworks, reports, and briefings that help inform senior decision‑makers.Participate in scenario‑based discussions, workshops, and planning exercises.Operational & Strategic InsightProvide professional military judgment and practical perspectives on planning, organization, and readiness issues.
Translate strategic direction into actionable plans, priorities, and recommendations.Review analytical outputs to ensure they reflect realistic assumptions and operational feasibility.Collaboration & IntegrationWork closely with consulting colleagues, secondees, and local counterparts to ensure alignment across program workstreams.
Support preparation for and participation in engagements with senior defense and government stakeholders.Maintain a collaborative, team‑oriented approach in a fast‑paced, cross‑cultural environment.Delivery & QualityTake ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables, ensuring quality, clarity, and timeliness.
Contribute to the overall success of the project through initiative, reliability, and professionalism.Qualifications & Experience
Former or current military officer (mid‑to senior‑level ranks, typically Major / Lieutenant Commander through Colonel / Captain).Experience in planning, operations, strategy, or institutional management.Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills; proficiency in preparing clear, professional reports and presentations.Experience working with or supporting senior defense or government leaders preferred.International or coalition experience, particularly in the Gulf region, is desirable but not required.Competencies
