AFRY Kuala Lumpur — Lead Naval Architect – FSRU Conversion
AFRY is a global engineering firm that designs and delivers innovative solutions for the maritime, energy and digital sectors. We are looking for an experienced naval architect to lead the vessel life‑extension and conversion of floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs).
Role Overview
The successful candidate will perform high‑level or Pre‑FEED assessments of existing LNG carriers, FSRUs and floating energy units to enable 20+ years of safe operation post‑conversion. The role requires deep knowledge of classification society rules, IMO stability requirements and advanced structural and fatigue analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct fatigue analysis and evaluate vessel structure for 20 years of additional operation.
Analyze deck load capacity for regasification equipment, vaporizers, compressors and skids.
Identify conceptual hull reinforcements or modifications to support heavy process equipment or LNG buffer tanks.
Perform high‑level assessments when detailed hull engineering data is unavailable, leveraging assumptions and reference databases.
