Job Summary :
A Asian Commis Chef is an entry-level culinary professional who assists in preparing and cooking a variety of Asian and Malay dishes under the supervision of senior chefs. This role is foundational in a professional kitchen and offers hands-on experience with traditional and modern Asian cooking techniques.
Key Tasks
- Assist in cooking and plating dishes according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Keep assigned kitchen stations clean, organized and stocked.
- Operate and maintain tools like woks, steamers and fryers.
- Monitor freshness, portion sizes and cooking temperatures.
- Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff during service.
- Help manage stock rotation and ingredient storage.
- Follow strict food safety and sanitation protocols.
Requirements
1-2 years in a kitchen environment.Asian and Western cuisine background.Experience in high-volume or casual dining environments.Exposure to various cuisines, especially if the restaurant has a specialty.Skills Needed
