Role Overview
The Manager, Procurement role provides leadership and strategic and commercial direction for the APAC Contract Manufacturing organization. Define and deploy strategies across multiple technologies that optimises the EM network to ensure supply reliability, quality, and cost improvement programmes, while enabling EM-based innovation to deliver top and bottom-line cost improvement. Establish strong supplier relationships, effectively manage the category supply base, perform advanced and intricate negotiations, and oversee supplier selection, onboarding and off‑boarding of key suppliers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead APAC EM Performance Delivery : Drive achievement of key metrics including cost, cash flow, supplier base optimisation, compliance, quality, customer service, delivered profit, and sales growth.
- Strategic Network & Technology Planning : Collaborate with regional supply chain leaders to shape and implement mid‑to‑long‑term strategies that enhance performance, reduce complexity, and improve cost efficiency.
- EM Network Optimisation : Design and execute plans for third‑party manufacturing (EM) network optimisation, including selection, onboarding and off‑boarding of partners.
- Go-to-Market Leadership : Manage RFI / RFP processes with a focus on total cost of ownership, technical capabilities, and operational excellence.
- Strategic Supplier Management : Own commercial relationships with EMs, fostering strategic partnerships and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Contract & Pricing Strategy : Lead contract development, negotiations and pricing strategies to secure favourable terms and long‑term value.
- Issue Resolution & Governance : Act as the escalation point for supply issues, establishing governance frameworks to monitor performance and resolve challenges.
- Compliance & Process Adherence : Ensure alignment with global procurement policies and drive compliance across all EM activities.
- Cost Optimisation Initiatives : Support cross‑functional value engineering and teardown programs to enhance product cost structures.
- Sourcing Strategy & Resiliency Planning : Partner with supply chain strategy teams to define sourcing models and build resilient supply networks.
- Global Representation : Represent Contract Manufacturing in global procurement and regional supply chain forums; contribute as a member of the Global Contract Manufacturing Leadership Team.
- Innovation Enablement : Collaborate with R&D and marketing teams to drive innovation through EM capabilities.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in Procurement, Manufacturing or Planning, including at least 3 years in a procurement‑focused role.Demonstrated success in cross‑functional environments with measurable results.Strong experience managing contractual relationships with external manufacturers.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.Solid business acumen and understanding of financial principles.Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management and contingency planning.Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence and capability development.Travel maximum 25%.Benefits & Culture
