Job title : Business Analyst - Software Engineering located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role sits within EY’s Digital Engineering team and involves bridging business needs and technical solutions to enable business transformation through technology.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements for software engineering initiatives
- Translate business needs into clear and concise user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria
- Partner with engineering leads and product owners to define solution scope, features, and prioritization in alignment with project goals
- Support agile delivery by participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews
- Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to support design decisions and technology adoption
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and user feedback sessions to refine solution requirements and improve user experience
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure mutual understanding of goals and constraints
- Support QA and UAT efforts by reviewing test cases and validating that deliverables meet business expectations
- Assist in preparing documentation such as functional specifications, data mapping, and user guides

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field3–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software engineering, digital product, or technology consulting environmentStrong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and product delivery processesProven experience in requirements gathering, business process modelling, and translating complex needs into technical specificationsFamiliarity with data structures, APIs, and modern application architectures (e.g., microservices, cloud-native platforms)Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperience working with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and wireframing / prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Balsamiq)Certification such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Scrum Product Owner is an advantage#J-18808-Ljbffr
