Overview
We seek a creative, flexible and positive team player, who is able to work under their own initiative. The successful applicant will work with children, staff and parents; intervention may include individual and small group work as well as in-class support. The Secondary Head of Learning Support is required for August 2026.
Responsibilities
- Identify breadth of needs and plan individualised provision depending on the specific needs of a student and implement the plan utilising support and provision within the school.
- Determine the steps to be taken once an internal referral has been made and measure the impact and effectiveness of the support using a range of data.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of inclusive practices within a school setting.
- Lead a team of Learning Support (LS) teachers and collaborate with class teachers and pastoral teams to ensure teaching and learning of students with Learning Support needs is of a high standard.
- Work with external agencies such as Educational and Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Counsellors.
- International or UK school experience is advantageous.
Qualifications
