Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic CME Assistant Manager / Team Leader to oversee Civil, Mechanical & Electrical operations within the telco sector. This role requires proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating complex site works and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards. In addition to technical and operational leadership, the candidate will be responsible for budget control, cost monitoring, and financial reporting for CME projects.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and mentor CME technicians and subcontractors across multiple projects.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and maintain high quality standards.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Project & Site Management
Plan, coordinate, and oversee CME works including tower erection, upgrades, maintenance, and TNB Electrical Substation works.Approve work plans, method statements, and ensure adherence to timelines.Conduct site visits to verify quality, safety, and progress.Financial & Budget Control
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and expenditure forecasts.Monitor and control operational costs to ensure projects remain within budget.Review and approve vendor invoices, quotations, and purchase orders.Provide accurate financial status reports to management and stakeholders.Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and safety.Technical & Operational Excellence
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide expert guidance for complex problems.Ensure mechanical, electrical, and civil works meet specifications and regulatory requirements.Maintain readiness of all CME tools, equipment, and resources.Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments.Present progress and financial updates to management and customers.Resolve operational or contractual disputes promptly.Compliance & Reporting
Ensure all works comply with industry regulations, contracts, and company SOPs.Maintain accurate project, safety, and financial documentation.Implement corrective and preventive actions for project or safety issues.Requirements
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related).Minimum 5 years' CME experience in the telco industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial / supervisory role.Proven experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.Strong knowledge of tower erection, TNB Electrical Substation works, and electrical / civil specifications.CIDB Green Card holder.Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.Physically fit and willing to work outdoors, including at heights.Valid driving license (Class D / B2) – GDL license is an advantage.Valid Working at Height (WAH) certificate will be an added advantageWilling to travel frequently and work outstation as required.Strong understanding of safety regulations, PPE usage, and site risk management.Job Type : Full-time
